A VA’s Recipe for Success:

Your 3 Step Guide to a Successful (VA) Life

A virtual assistant’s life is not laden with rose petals. Others say it’s not for everybody. But what I have here is an easy 3 step guide to a successful (VA) life. Follow these and enjoy.

What you need is GRIT.

Grit is passion. It is perseverance. It is an intense emotion developed through years of failure, suffering, and especially pain. But in this recipe, what you need is G.R.I.T.

  • Gratitude

Be thankful for everything. No matter how small or how insignificant it may seem, have gratitude. Instead of focusing on the burden, focus on the blessings.

  • Respect

It’s easy to respect others, but challenging to respect ourselves. The respect needed here is self-respect. Accept who you are. Don’t let people’s opinion define who you are. Take responsibility for everything that you did and will do.

  • Inspiration

A grandiose vision is not needed to be inspired. It is found in the little things. Like that fleeting moment that you see a falling star. Or perhaps a beautiful coloured butterfly fluttering by – have inspiration.

  • Tenacity

To achieve this VA’s recipe for success, this ingredient is not optional. It is a requirement. Be persistent in what you do. Have the mental determination of world-class athletes. Persevere.

Combine these ingredients, then follow the steps.

STEP 1: When you fall, just get up.

Conquer your limiting beliefs.

When I started freelancing, people thought that I was simply living off from my parents’ pension. They thought that I was a freeloader. I tried blocking them in my head, but their force is strong.

I’ve heard so many times before that I am a disappointment. They’ve told me that I amount to nothing and that I will never get far in life. I embarrass them and that they are ashamed of me. What’s worse is that they’ve led me to believe that everything is my fault.

I felt like an overused rag. They stomped on me and it hurt. And every day of my life, I get up. Head down, but I got up. On to the next step.

STEP 2: Grin and bear it.

Suffer through it but don’t dwell on it.

This is a common phrase and it simply means that you should just keep going. No matter what happened, remember that there is always that promise of tomorrow. That everything will be alright.

As a freelancer, we’d encounter countless rejection notices before we can even land a single online job. Some will insult you even. But just grin and bear it. Don’t take it personally. Feel the pain, but never dwell on such a downer mindset.

STEP 3: Fake it till you make it.

“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,” so imitate success.

There was a time that I followed every motivational coach I could find. I’d watch every video of successful people. Inspirational stories everywhere. Until I realized that what inspired me the most are the people around me who never gave up, no matter the trials they are facing.

I then thought that I could imitate them. I can start by waking up each day and just getting up.

For how long do you do these 3 steps? Repeat as often as you like. But never forget to BELIEVE that you can manifest SUCCESS in the path you choose. Abundance and beauty are in everything that you do. And whatever your heart’s desire, ACT on it and just keep moving forward.

My life moments led me to where I am now. I have no regrets and I definitely will not change anything from my past. I am where I am meant to be. If you want to join me on my journey, click this link here.
