RIS Technical Training (Day 10) – Final Face to Face Training

RIS Technical Training (Day 10) – Final Face to Face Training

Last day of the Rural Impact Sourcing Technical Training, which means it is also the last day of the Face to Face training. And then we begin our 21 day Digital Marketing Campaign. This is the day that I have been dreading – parting ways.

2015-2016 was a long bereavement period for our family. That was about the same time I paused my online freelancing career. I was feeling trapped so deep inside my head, that I opted for a change of scenery. By the 1st quarter of 2017, I applied for a teaching position in a university nearby but got an 8-5 desk job instead. Still, I accepted what the universe had to offer.

Being not from around the area, it was pretty hard for me to form connections. I had to adapt to a culture so different from what I was used to. Still I was able to forge friendships in the workplace. But it didn’t last long. One friend went back to her former employer, the other resigned. And I was crawling back inside my head. And then I saw the ad for the RISTT, the rest as they say is history, but for me it has just begun.

Fast forward to the 10th day of training, before the start of the 21 day Digital Marketing Campaign, we were told to finalize everything, from our website to our freelancer profile. What I tried to hide, was probably what they call attachment anxiety. The bond that was established during the 10 day training was not what I expected. And now we have to part ways. This was a mere test if we could survive the freelance life, or if we would crumble under pressure. For me, it would be time to crawl back inside the confines of my head, to the tune of…

Bitter Sweet Symphony

Cause it’s a bittersweet symphony this life
Trying to make ends meet, you’re a slave to the money then you die.
I’ll take you down the only road I’ve ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah.
No change, I can’t change, I can’t change, I can’t change,
but I’m here in my mold, I am here in my mold.
But I’m a million different people from one day to the next
I can’t change my mold, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
Well I never pray,
But tonight I’m on my knees, yeah.
I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah.
I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind, I feel free now.
But the airwaves are clean and there’s nobody singing to me now.
No change, I can’t change, I can’t change, I can’t change,
But I’m here in my mold, I am here in my mold.
And I’m a million different people from one day to the next
I can’t change my mold, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
Cause it’s a bittersweet symphony this life.
Trying to make ends meet, trying to find some money then you die.
I’ll take you down the only road I’ve ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah.
No change, I can’t change, I can’t change, I can’t change,
but I’m here in my mold, I am here in my mold.
But I’m a million different people from one day to the next
I can’t change my mold, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
I can’t change my mold, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
I can’t change my mold, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
It justs sex and violence melody and silence
It justs sex and violence melody and silence (I’ll take you down the only road I’ve ever been down)
It’s just sex and violence melody and silence
It’s just sex and violence melody and silence
It’s just sex and violence melody and silence (I’ll take you down the only road I’ve ever been down)
(It’s just sex and violence melody and silence)Been down
(Ever been down)
(Ever been down)
(Ever been down)
(Ever been down)
(Ever been down)
