Making Memories …

Thank You…

It’s hard to put into words how grateful we were with the experience and how thankful we are for everybody and everything you’ve done for us. We are truly blessed with this amazing family. Life without you wouldn’t be the same.
We started our December 21st trip during the wee hours of the morning. A generous Uncle lent us his van which made this long trip comfortable and a lot easier. The adults were all cozy in individual recliner chairs (except for the driver and front seat), and the kids were all comfortably seated. There was ample space for bags and we could party during the trip if we wanted to.

Overview
First stop was at a local bakeshop to buy 2 loaves of bread to go with peanut butter. Even before the sun came up, we were already on our way. After a couple of hours, we had our first pee break at Overview. We stretched our legs, and enjoyed the cold weather while we annoy each other and take lots of pictures.

Seagull
Next stop was at Seagull where we drank hot cocoa and tasted their amazing suman before we hit the road once again. And then touchdown Davao.

Crocodile Park
We visited the Crocodile Park where we ate crocodile ice cream, watched the amazing animal show, and got engulfed with butterflies. James even braved himself and conquered his fear by handling an albino snake and a python. And then lunch at McDonald’s to indulge ourselves with French fries and soda.

Upside Down Museum
We then proceeded to the Upside Down Museum to tire ourselves with a memorable left and right photoshoot. And of course we brought some souvenir items to take home other than the memories.

SM Lanang
It was then time to take a rest. We then headed to our hotel, rested a couple of hours before proceeding to SM Lanang where we spent the rest of our evening. After dinner, some kids went on to watch a movie while the adults went shopping. James, on the other hand, went on a book and toy shopping spree because it is rare for him to go places where his debit card would be of use. Then we rested for the night so we would have the energy to enjoy Paradise.

People’s Park
December 22nd was the second day of this unforgettable trip. We started by dropping by People’s Park where the kids chased pigeons, and the adults were busy taking pictures. James saw a Children’s Play Area and decided to tire himself while his cousins had breakfast at a local food place nearby. And then we began our journey towards Paradise.

Paradise Island
We parked the van then headed towards the motor boat that would ferry us towards the island. Complete with life vest for everyone, the family enjoyed the amazing and mesmerizing view up ahead.
The kids enjoyed the sand and waves while the adults rested in comfortable beds and enjoyed alone time. After lunch, some went for a stroll around paradise, while others took naps and revitalize themselves for the evening festivities.

A candlelit dinner with the band playing in the background was soothing and calming. Very conducive for chitchats and just enjoying each other’s company. The highlight was the exciting fire dancers showing off their skills. After dinner, the kids then proceeded with a game of billiards while adults lounge about or simply enjoyed the ambiance in the island.48408976_283078769062909_7025094559424053248_n
Before the sun was up, this adult already had the audacity to walk around Paradise Island, and was simply greeted by the staff with “Morning Ma’am, aha ka paingon?” I simply replied with a smile, “lakaw lakaw lang gamay. (kay dako na kaayo ko)”. Good thing the rest of the cousins were up and about, we then proceeded to catch a glimpse of the sunrise. Only to find out that it would be on the other side of the island. But we still weren’t disappointed. We did catch a glimpse of the sunrise, and amazing as it may seem, we even saw a rainbow while feeding the fishes.

Homeward bound
The trip back home was also very exciting, after lunch at Abreeza Mall, we safely navigated through lightning storms and flood while stopping a bit at a local pomelo shop so we could bring some home to family and friends.
We have been through a lot and even with our individual differences you have been our support system and you always believed in us even if we doubt ourselves. It is hard to imagine a life without a family like ours.
Thank you everybody, for this memorable and enjoyable Christmas vacation. And simply for just being there. We love you, and may God continue to bless us all.
