In Between RIS Technical Training Days (V): Do You Believe in Serendipity?

The 10 days Technical Training is now done. The real test has begun. Scholars are now doing their 21 days Digital Marketing Campaign. This means website and product promotion to create an online presence and to generate sales for our assigned Micro, Small, Medium Enterprise (MSME) Clients. This is not going to be an easy task, for each scholar is doing the job of the following:

  • Web Developer
  • Content Creator
  • Data Miner
  • Graphics / Video Design
  • Blogger
  • Social Media Manager

On top of doing marketing and or sales pitch to potential customers, and managing orders if any. Oh and don’t forget, scholars also have tasks which is a huge part of the training, and we each have our own separate lives to live. This is not only a test of our multitasking or time management skills, but a test of our character.

Would the scholars crumble under pressure? Or would we be able to rise above our adversities? Serendipity is defined as certain occurrences or development of events wherein by chance in a happier or beneficial way; or in a much simpler term, finding something good without having to look for it.

At the start of this 21 Day Digital Marketing Campaign, the scholars were also tested in their solution finding abilities. Amidst the tons of tasks and things to do, the internet connection joined in the chaos. Some areas are having problems with their fiber connections, and some unable to find a working computer to work on. But in the backdraft of all these, friendships were formed and camaraderie were strengthened. The scholars are now helping each other with whatever resources they have, showing their ingenuity.

I started this training feeling out of place where ever I go. But somehow, I found my place of Zen. It is not a specific place, nor is it a specific person. It is more of a calling, something that always brings about my passion – online freelancing. Serendipity?
