RIS Technical Training (Day 9) – Training Review
2nd to the last day for the face to face training, then the grueling 21-day Digital Marketing Campaign for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) begins. It brings feelings of sad and happiness all together. Sad that we will soon part ways to be tested on our own accord, yet happy that we have come this far and have learned a lot.
Online freelancers are often misunderstood and looked down upon by those who never understood the nature of the job. But because of this training, I have come to the understanding that online freelancers are actually a hybrid of an employee and a business person. Our clients are our employer of some sorts, but it is our services that they “buy” or “purchase”.
At this juncture of the training, we are putting on the finishing touches for what we need for our freelancer’s toolkit and making sure our profiles are up and running, with information to upsell our skills and abilities. We are also finalizing our websites for us to market the site and products during the 21-day Digital Marketing Campaign for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME).
Our tasks for the 21-day Digital Marketing Campaign for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) includes the following:
- Post social media content for our MSMEs and for our freelancer profiles
- Answer inquiries and inform MSME owners for any product sales
- Maintain the websites of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) owners
During this review day, we also discussed websites where we, as freelancer would send our applications with the hopes to land an online job. We need to create 5 profiles for these websites and try and apply jobs online. We also finalized any payment options that we would use where we would receive our pay from hourly or project-based jobs.
After this Rural Impact Sourcing Technical Training, we would part ways and be back to living separate lives. And another song comes to mind…
Gilbert O’Sullivan – Alone Again (original version) – YouTube
Lyrics
In a little while from now
If I’m not feeling any less sour
I promise myself to treat myself
And visit a nearby tower
And climbing to the top
Will throw myself off
In an effort to
Make it clear to whoever
Wants to know what it’s like When you’re shattered
Left standing in the lurch at a church
Were people saying, My God, that’s tough
She stood him up
No point in us remaining
We may as well go home
As I did on my own
Alone again, naturally
To think that only yesterday
I was cheerful, bright and gay
Looking forward to who wouldn’t do
The role I was about to play
But as if to knock me down
Reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch
Cut me into little pieces
Leaving me to doubt
Talk about, God in His mercy
Oh, if he really does exist
Why did he desert me
In my hour of need
I truly am indeed
Alone again, naturally
It seems to me that
There are more hearts broken in the world
That can’t be mended
Left unattended
What do we do
What do we do
Alone again, naturally
Looking back over the years
And whatever else that appears
I remember I cried when my father died
Never wishing to hide the tears
And at sixty-five years old
My mother, God rest her soul
Couldn’t understand why the only man
She had ever loved had been taken
Leaving her to start
With a heart so badly broken
Despite encouragement from me
No words were ever
And when she passed away
I cried and cried all day
Alone again, naturally
Alone again, naturally
